Luke Younge is a facilitator for an international NPO that trains people in mindfulness, compassion and insight practices. His passion is releasing people’s capacities through positive, insight-based processes. As well as his local work, he was part of a team that launched a comprehensive mindfulness-trainer programme in South Africa and Scotland. In Scotland that programme is now an MSc in Mindfulness at the University of Aberdeen. In addition to his facilitation work, he currently serves as a Director of the Institute for Mindfulness South Africa, an NPO committed to the practice, research and application of mindfulness. He is also a fellow of Mindfulness Africa. His twin loves, human potential and Art, come together in his work as an award-winning producer of media for organisational development. He has produced educational and inspirational video materials that use the principles of positive change for a variety audiences, including the South African education department and national NGOs. Some recent work involves a 3 hour workshop for over 400 high schools that works with the values of compassion and acceptance in contemporary South Africa. After graduating with distinction in Fine Art he has worked extensively as a facilitator and teacher in the field of mindfulness and self awareness. He is a facilitator and facilitator trainer for Mindfulness Africa, the African branch of Mindfulness Scotland, the NGO that has just launched the MSc. He is a qualified AI facilitator and AI facilitator trainer trainee with Company of Experts. He is always looking for ways in which to apply the appreciative process and principles, be it through developing training programmes, evaluating projects, coaching or media production. He aspires to bring out the very best in people through attention, awareness, dialogue and humour. |

Richard Lyons
Richard E. Lyons has served as a professor of management, department chair, instructional dean, corporate trainer, faculty and staff developer, and independent consultant. His grounding in sound research and quality management practices, as well as deep learning from his varied experiences, has enabled him to exceed expectations of clients systematically. Richard launched his consulting and presentation practice in 1999, shortly after the publication of his first book, The Adjunct Professor’s Guide to Success. He has since authored three other books – Teaching College in an Age of Accountability, Success Strategies for Adjunct Faculty, and Best Practices for Supporting Adjunct Faculty. His extensive research on these topics and familiarity with best practices that align with that research undergird his consulting. The strategies that he espouses have been well received not only by clients, but also by audiences in dozens of presentations at varied academic conferences. Richard has presented on the campuses of community and state colleges, universities and proprietary institutions, in three countries. Besides traditional institutions, these have included historically Black colleges and universities, historically women’s institutions, and those that serve significant populations of Native American, Hispanic and other diverse populations. He also regularly utilizes webinars to deepen workshop participants’ mastery of critical learning outcomes. His travel experiences in over forty countries enable him to address issues in a global, futuristic context – a factor of increasing importance at many institutions. Active throughout his career in professional organizations, Richard presently serves on the board of the North American Council for Staff, Program and Organizational Development [NCSPOD]. Richard earned his B.A. in Management and M.S. in Business Education at Western Kentucky University, and his doctorate in college teaching and curriculum at the University of Central Florida. |

Nicholas Holton has worked as a professional educator his whole career. First as a math instructor and now at a community college as an Associate Dean for General Education, Nicholas has been a leader in innovation by design. His workshops have visited four continents, and include strategic planning, appreciative inquiry, service learning, and engaged learning techniques. He is sought out as an invited speaker and his keynote and other presentations draw an international audience. Nicholas’ appreciative inquiry teams work with small nonprofits and whole community colleges. He conducted an Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator Workshop (AIFT) in Perth, Australia and his clients are located all over the world including: Scotland, Chile and India. His professional passions include anything that helps people improve the human condition. He is committed to this also in he personal life as he sits on several nonprofit boards and volunteers regularly at community events.

Earl Bloor
Earl Bloor has a diverse background spanning higher education, government and industry, including twenty-five years as a chemistry instructor and administrator of a wide range of college-level programs, including arts, sciences, health occupations, technology, and trades programs. He has managed major instructional divisions in colleges in Canada, Massachusetts and California, and in Abu Dhabi (UAE). In government, he has worked with departments focusing on human resources development and apprenticeship training. For a two year period, he coordinated corporate development and training programs for a Middle Eastern oil operating company. With his wife, he publishes a regional magazine which focuses on sustainability issues. Earl has managed major curriculum development projects, such as the Competency Based Apprenticeship Training Program in Alberta (Canada) and the Adult Applied Academics Project in British Columbia (Canada). Earl was one of the first Facilitators/Trainers of the Instructional Skills Workshop Program, now a major element in instructional improvement programs in colleges and universities around the world, and one of its original Directors. Earl has been certified by Company of Experts.net as both an Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator and an Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator Training (AIFT©) Trainer. He is also a certified Team Coach. Earl’s experience has led him to understand that empathy is at the root of every successful human relationship. “My approach to supervision is relationship-based. I believe that every employee seeks to do the best job s/he can do. If there are factors preventing peak performance, these need to be identified in a non-threatening manner and addressed. This belief is at the base of the work I do to help organizations plan to achieve the goals that are most important to them.” Earl earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Western Ontario (London, Canada) and conducted research at the University of Illinois and Simon Fraser University (Canada) before settling into a long and rewarding career based in community colleges around the world. |
