He is especially interested in applying appreciative and strength-based methods for improvement of education, and is a national and international presenter and facilitator.
Rich has taught at every level from 8th grade through graduate school and has significant experience in education administration, most recently as Dean of Information Resources at a community college in Washington.
His approach to organizational change focuses on the diverse strengths within the organization that can be combined and amplified to create remarkable results. The key question for organizations is, “What can we create together that we can’t create separately?” Since 1988, Rich has helped local, national, and international groups answer that question and achieve their highest potential. He is a certified facilitator in Appreciative Inquiry, OpenSpace Technology, and Spiral Dynamics.
Rich holds a B.A. in physical science from The Evergreen State College and a M.Ed. in computer education from Western Washington University. He holds four patents.
