Award-winning writer and consultant Lorne Daniel, based in western Canada, specializes in helping organizations and communities discover, develop and communicate their strengths. Lorne is managing partner of a well-respected Canadian consulting firm with clients across western Canada. Prior to starting the consulting firm in 1998, Lorne taught communication studies full-time for 10 years at Red Deer College, Alberta, Canada. He also has a number of years experience as a freelance writer and as a public relations specialist.
Lorne brings strengths in planning, communications and marketing to a wide variety of projects and workshops. He has been a lead consultant in a national award winning urban plan, designed award winning marketing and communications projects, and consulted to organizations on issues as diverse as web site planning and employee training.
Appreciative Inquiry (AI) has captured Lorne’s interest in recent years. The power of AI to create positive change in diverse groups has led Lorne to integrate ‘the appreciative approach’ whenever possible into his work. He is the founder of the Appreciative Inquiry Canada web site and led the formation of an AI interest group in Vancouver. Lorne has used appreciative inquiry in a variety of projects.
Lorne has worked effectively with community colleges, public health organizations, governments, corporations, and professional associations. His real-world business experience, complemented by years of classroom and online teaching, give him a well-rounded outlook on organizations, people, and communities.
