Kina's experience includes speaking at various national
academic conferences including American Association of Higher Education, Council of Independent Colleges, Southern Speech Communication and the National Department Chairpersons Conference.
Kina has received a number of honors and awards including: outstanding communication educator for a Southern state; faculty of the year for her university; member of a City Advisory Board on Diversity; president of a statewide communication association; two instructional innovation awards at the same university; and outstanding young educator for her resident city.
She earned a Ph.D. in communication and a Master of Arts in speech communication from the University of Tennessee. Kina also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in speech and theatre from Middle Tennessee State University.
