Rosemarie Peikes

Rosemarie Peikes has over thirty years experience as an adult educator, organizational development practitioner, facilitator and trainer. For twenty-seven years, Rosemarie served as the Manager, Education & Organizational Development at The Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences in Toronto. The Michener Institute is Canada’s only post-secondary institution devoted exclusively to applied health science education. Rosemarie was responsible for leading organizational change initiatives, as well as organizing and facilitating staff development and learning.

As an organizational development specialist, Rosemarie led the development of organizational values using an appreciative approach. She also was responsible for the development of the biannual staff engagement survey and coordinated its implementation, evaluation and follow-up action plans. In addition, Rosemarie was the team leader for diversity and wellness initiatives, and facilitated departments and teams in the development and evaluation of strategic plans.

Rosemarie created, organized and implemented an annual organizational learning plan. She facilitated numerous workshops, including but not limited to, teaching techniques and Instructional Skills Workshops, Great Teaching seminars, mediation and conflict resolution, service excellence and facilitation strategies, at both professional and educational conferences, and within the Michener community.

Rosemarie has been extensively involved in facilitating project meetings and programs in support of international projects, including three Canada-European Union mobility projects, a Canada India Institute-Industry Liaison project, and the Strengthening of Medical Laboratory Services in the Caribbean project.

Rosemarie is accredited as a facilitator trainer for Instructional Skills Workshops, an Appreciative Inquiry facilitator, a True Colors facilitator, and an Insights Discovery facilitator. She is also the proud recipient of The John Fry Individual Merit Award for Outstanding Contributions to Staff Development, presented by the National Council for Staff, Program and Organizational Development in 1998.

Rosemarie has a Masters of Education in Adult Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto. She has an undergraduate degree in Modern Languages and Literature, and a Diploma in Child Study from the University of Toronto.
