Gary Kay

Gary Kay is an experienced executive who has over 30 years of leadership and management experience in education, financial services and the retail sales industries.

Before his retirement in January of 2009 Gary spent 11 years as the Director of Community Education and Contract Training at a large community college in Southern California where he was responsible for program development, fiscal operations, staff development, marketing, coordinating industry and community outreach and contract negotiations with business clients.  He also has 25 years teaching experience as an adjunct professor of philosophy at community colleges. Prior to becoming a community college administrator Gary spent15 years in the financial industry as an operations manager, commercial lender, commercial lending training officer and branch manager, and he also has five years of experience in retail sales as a store manager and district manager. Gary currently co-owns a consulting firm that provides services for public and private entities that helps them maximize their resources to achieve their goals.

Gary specializes in business and organizational planning to help identify critical issues or needs, develop realistic solutions and assist in the successful implantation of those solutions. Some of these might include; developing a new business or strategic plan, identifying and developing new industry community partners, customized employee training, management training or coaching, strategies for increasing income and reducing expenses, modifying existing products or developing new ones, improving employee morale, finding interim administrators.  Gary is able to bring his 30 years of experience in leadership to the business and organizational planning process to ensure a successful result.

Gary earned his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the University of California at Riverside in philosophy and logic. He also holds a Certificate in Financial Planning from the University of California at Los Angeles.
